ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT BY CROSSVILLE POLICE

Crossville Police report an attempted armed robbery at the Burger King on Main St. Thursday afternoon. According to Chief Mark Rosser, the suspect entered the restaurant around 4 PM wearing a plastic Halloween-type mask, black clothing, a yellow safety vest and wielding a gun. The suspect ordered the cashier to fill a black Adidas gym bag with money. When the employees failed to do so, the suspect fled the scene and ran east toward a residential area. No one was injured in the holdup. After a perimeter was established, an extensive search took place using K-9 Officers. Multiple individuals and vehicles were checked with an extensive search of the area turning up negative results.
