A one-time grant has been awarded that will target improved security measures in courthouses across the state. The Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts received the grant after two serious security breaches happened at courthouses in Lewis and Coffee Counties. Applications for the grant will go before a committee for approval with preference going to those county courthouses and courtrooms that do not measure up to the minimum security standards. Those counties that had serious gaps in security within the past year will also be given top priority.
