The National Weather Service has issued a FREEZE WATCH from late tomorrow night (Friday, April 10, 2020) until mid-Saturday morning (April 11, 2020). The watch includes the following counties in the coverage area:

CUMBERLAND, FENTRESS, OVERTON, PICKETT, PUTNAM AMD WHITE

The watch includes the cities of Byrdstown, Cookeville, Livingston, Jamestown, Allardt, Sparta and Crossville.

Freezing temperatures in the low 30’s can be expected in the watch area. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
