The TBI released a statement late last night indicating they are working with the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a shooting Sunday night (December 27, 2020). Preliminary information indicates two individuals were traveling on Highway 127 when a subject in a pickup truck fired shots into their vehicle, striking the driver. The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment and has since been released. The case remains active and ongoing and for that reason the identities of those involved were not released at this time.
