RUTH ANN THORNBURGH age 77 of Crossville, TN passed away November 26, 2021. She was born December 14, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of John H. and Rose L. Calbert Bombei. She was retired from the University of Michigan where she worked as a data entry operator. She and her husband Ron were longtime attenders of Central Baptist Church in Crossville, TN.
Ruth Ann had many hobbies and interests and enjoyed life to the fullest. She liked bowling, camping, hiking and traveling. She also loved doing crafts, sewing and making corn hole bags. Puzzles, playing cards and digital art were favorites too. Reading her novels, drama, love stories and mysteries were another favorite pastime. She also like watching tv drama series, chasing waterfalls and lighthouses and live country artist concerts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ronald Harry Thornburgh of Crossville, TN, children- Cheryl Ann Kolp of Columbia, SC and Bradley Allen Thornburgh Sr. and his wife Pam of Van Wert, OH, grandchildren- Bradley (BJ) Allen Thornburgh Jr. and his wife Kristin of Mims, FL, Christopher Allen Kolp of Columbia, SC, Jessica Ann Kolp of Columbia, SC and Justin Anthony Kolp also of Columbia, SC, step grandchildren- Erick Maunz and his wife Jackie of Van Wert, OH, Fallan Maunz of Ft. Wayne, IN, Hunter Maunz of Van Wert, OH and Jordan Krugh of Van Wert, OH and step great grandchildren- Robert Fullwood, Ben Fullwood, Kelly Fullwood, Gideon Irwin, Ryleigh Maunz and Raiden Maunz, brothers- John (Jack) Bombei of Plano, TX and David (Butch) Bombei of Greencastle, IN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter- Kelly Lynn Thornburgh, step grandson- Michael Irwin and siblings- Maurice Bombei, Robert (Bob) Bombei, Richard Bombei, Martha (Bombei) Cline and Janet (Bombei) Staley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 30, 2021, at 1:00pm at Central Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00noon-1:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery.
