DEATH OF RETIRED POLICE CAPTAIN

Cookeville, TN – It is with deep sorrow and profound regret that the Cookeville Police
Department confirms the death of retired Captain Bobby Anderson following a motor
vehicle crash this date.
At approximately 9:16 AM on May 13, 2022, officers of the Cookeville Police Department
responded to the area of Buffalo Valley Road near Eagles Landing Drive in reference to
a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a truck. Upon realizing that Captain
Anderson was involved, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) was asked to respond to
conduct the investigation.
While this incident remains under investigation by THP, our heartfelt condolences go out
to the family, friends, coworkers, and all others affected by this tragic event.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17 at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Parkison will officiate. Interment with Police Honor Guard Honors will follow at Saylors Cemetery in White County. His family will receive friends Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the church and again Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Rawls, Phillip Baker, Adam Ely, Carl Sells, Darrin Stout, Scott Winfree, and K.C. Clement.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cookeville Police Department and staff at Stevens Street Baptist Church.
