Police officers conducted a traffic stop Monday on a red GMC pickup truck for running a stop sign at Sparta Drive and Miller Ave. The driver, identified as 50-year-old Edward Mackie, did not have a driver’s license but only an ID. Mr. Mackie stated that he had his license revoked because of a previous DUI.  After giving consent to having his vehicle searched, officers saw two alcoholic beverages in the back floorboard. Mr. Mackie stated, “he just popped the top and was about to start drinking when your blue lights came on so I threw it in the back”.

Edward Mackie was placed into custody for driving on a revoked DUI.
