Public Works Director of Algood and former Fire Chief, Victor Jones, was arrested yesterday for Aggravated Sexual Battery against a victim less than 13 years of age.
In September of 2022, in response to a victim disclosure, investigators with the Cookeville Police Department began an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct by Victor Evrett Jones, age 61. Investigators with the office of the District Attorney Office joined the investigation.
As the investigation progressed, investigators learned sufficient information to charge Victor Jones with Aggravated Sexual Battery against a victim less than 13 years of age.
On Thursday, December 8, 2022, an arrest warrant was obtained by DA Investigator Randal Slayton. Victor Evrett Jones was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail.
