Funeral Services for Casto “Junior” Key, age 90, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. David Harris will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Key was born on Saturday, March 5, 1932, in Crawford, Tennessee, to the late Casto Smith Key Sr. and Amie Padgett Key. Mr. Key passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home. Mr. Key worked many years as a groundskeeper at Druid Hills Golf Course in Fairfield Glade. He cut timber and worked at the rock quarry. He was a member of Three Forks Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Alice Phillips Key of Monterey, TN; 1 daughter, Brenda Welch of Monterey, TN; 2 grandchildren, Crystal and (Chad) Harris, Jeff and (Jordan) Welch; and 3 great-grandchildren, Mason, Matthew, and Shea Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randal Key; son-in-law, Jerry Welch; brothers, Cleopas, Alfred, LB, Albert, Seth, and Howard Key; sisters, Delene Welch, Dorothy Tudor, Geneva Key; and infant sister, Mary Lou Key.
