A tobacco store on North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood was robbed at gunpoint last night around 9pm.  Mita Patel, who was working at Cigarettes For Less, said a masked man came into the store and was pointing a gun at her.  The suspect demanded she open the cash drawer then made her sit on the floor.  After the robber emptied the cash register of approximately a thousand dollars he forced Ms Patel to hand over her purse with fifteen hundred dollars in it.  The bandit then ordered Ms Patel into a restroom.  He then fled from the store with the cash and the purse.  A tracking K-9 was used by police which indicated the robber went to a car lot next door, got into a vehicle and drove away.  Police are now reviewing surveillance video from the store.  The suspect is still on the run.
