Former representative Justin Pearson was once again sworn in to represent House District 86 on Thursday after being reinstated by commissioners in Memphis on Wednesday.

Pearson was sworn in and hugged his supporters after. He signed papers and then chanted “Power to the people.”

Rep. Justin Jones was also expelled last week alongside Pearson for “disorderly conduct”  after a gun control protest on the House floor following a deadly school shooting. Jones was reinstated on Monday as interim House representative.

The expulsions came with protests from supporters at the Tennessee State Capitol building.
