CUMBERLAND COUNTY STUDENTS WILL NOW NOT ATTEND SCHOOL ON MAY 23 & 24

The Tennessee Law allows Cumberland County School System to accrue 13 stockpile days by extending the instructional time 30 minutes each day of the school year. These days are used for extenuating circumstances like snow days or illness days, so we do not have to extend the school year due to missed days of instruction.

The law also allows CCS to request the use of up to 2 stockpile days for professional development if the system does not use all 13 days. These days will be May 23rd and May 24th, 2023. Students will not attend school these days, however all employees will be required to work.
