On Sunday night, a Crossville officer was in the area of Genesis Road when he noticed a vehicle speeding and conducted a traffic stop.
As the vehicle was coming to a stop, the officer noticed that the passenger in the vehicle threw a white ball-type object out of the window.
After calling for backup, officers arrived on the scene where they found a 32.92-gram ball of methamphetamine. The passenger was identified as 42-year-old Kurt Sanders who was placed under arrest.
The driver was identified as 36-year-old Jennifer Avans who consented to a search of her person. While searching, an officer felt abnormal objects in Ms. Avans’s pants. Ms. Avans claimed that the objects were meth and marijuana and that they had fallen into her pants.
Jennifer Avans was placed under arrest and both were transported to the Justice Center for booking. While at intake, a strip search was conducted where authorities found .1 grams of methamphetamine on her person.
