Cynthia Imogene (Hodge) Turner, age 94, passed away on June 4, 2023, at her home in Crossville, TN.  Born in Wilder, TN, Cynthia, also known as Gena, lived most of her adult life in the greater Cleveland, OH area returning to Crossville to retire.  Her willingness to accept new challenges led her down many career paths.  She lived with an adventurous, unrivaled, infectious zest for life.  Cynthia loved her family and friends and was devoted to supporting each of them in ways that only she could.

Cynthia was born to Luther and Cora Hodge in 1928.  She was the third child of 13 born to the Hodge family.  In 1934 the family, consisting of five children at the time, moved to the Cumberland Homestead Community as original Homesteaders.  She was in the first class of students at Crossville High School and was the drum majorette of the high school band.

Cynthia was deeply loved and admired by those who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Cora Hodge, brothers Luther Jr., Lee Roy, Samuel Oral, Franklin Delano (Dee), Glenn, Charles Michael, Wayne Edward, and sisters, Inez Hale and Carolyn Faye Hodge.  She is survived by her children, Sandra Gail Busser (William), Lana Jane Heath (Lee), Cynthia Lynn Craig (Mark) and Keith Edward Turner; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; sisters Sandra C. West Greene (James), Linda K. Pharris and brother, Larry Anthony Hodge.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Cumberland Homestead Baptist Church, 4427 Hwy 127 S, Crossville, TN at 1:00 p.m.
