Graveside funeral services for Danie Hargis, age 75, of Monterey, will be conducted on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hargis was born on Saturday, August 7, 1948, in Crawford, Tennessee, to the late Ruben and Bertha Ann Sisco Hargis. Mr. Hargis passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hargis was retired from Flowserve. He was Baptist in faith.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Theresa Boronda Hargis; sons and daughters-in-law: Jeff Hargis and Jacky Wasik of the Willette community and Ruben Shane and Shannon Hargis of Monterey; grandchildren: Mystica (Kyle) Willix, Savanna Hargis, Darien Hargis, and Bodhi Wasik-Hargis; great-granddaughter: Azariah Willix; sisters: Betty Cleghorn of Algood and Geneva Simpson of Wallins Creek, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Homer Hargis, Charles Hargis, Clyde Hargis, Claude Hargis, Otis Hargis, Pauline Reed, and Juanita Reed.
The family will receive friends at the Welch Memorial Cemetery for graveside services.
