While in Crab Orchard Saturday night, a Cumberland County deputy observed a motorist near a gas station accelerating at a high rate of speed.
The officer pursued the Cadillac CTS driven by 28-year-old Gary Allen Haney of Crab Orchard.
While performing the traffic stop, the deputy allegedly saw Haney throw a clear plastic bag out of the driver side window. The bag landed in the middle of the road. It was recovered by another deputy responding to assist. The report states the bag contained a crystal white substance weighing 4.76 grams.
Haney pulled over.
A search of his vehicle reportedly revealed two firearms.
Haney faces manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, tampering with evidence, and reckless driving.
He was taken to the Cumberland County jail and placed under bonds totaling $70,000.
