ASSISTED LIVING HOME OWNER IN PUTNAM COUNTY ARRESTED

The owner of an assisted-living home in Putnam County has been charged with property theft and willful abuse, neglect or exploitation following a raid at the facility. Stephanie Butler, the wife of Republican legislative candidate Ed Butler, bonded out of jail. Ed Butler released a statement yesterday:

My children and I are devastated by the news of my wife, Stephanie’s arrest. Her behavior violated not only the trust of her patients, but also the trust of our family. Our children are my number one priority. I am helping them cope with the suffering they are experiencing. I have and will continue to cooperate fully with District Attorney Bryant Dunaway’s office as the investigation continues.”

Stephanie operated the retirement and assisted-living facility called Senior Lifestyles LLC. It was raided late last week as part of an investigation into possible elder abuse and financial exploitation. Along with the facility, investigators searched an administrative office and a car belonging to Stephanie Butler.
