BRADLEY COUNTY OFFICERS REPORTEDLY RAID WRONG HO– USE LOOKING FOR MURDER SUSPECT
A Bradley County man says authorities raided his home by accident today looking for a wanted murder suspect from Washington County. Spencer Renck says he heard a loud banging noise in his home early this morning on Lynncrest Drive and thought someone was breaking into his home while his wife and children were sleeping. He says flash bangs were thrown into the home, officers entered and he was handcuffed. Officers later released him when they realized he was not who they were looking for. Renck says his son’s hearing may have been impaired by the flash bangs. His son was taken to a hospital for treatment. The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office says they assisted a federal agency with executing a search warrant. No other details are available since the investigation is still ongoing. Officers say Monte Lamar Brewer, Jr. was the man wanted by authorities in connection with the murder of a pregnant woman in Washington County. Brewer’s home address is listed as being on the same street on which the Renck family lives. Brewer was arrested in Bradley County this morning following the incident at Renck’s home.
