A new Tennessee state law will go into effect July 1, 2018, that will allow county commissioners to bring their handguns into buildings where meetings are held if they have the appropriate handgun carry license. There are some exceptions to the new law, including not allowing commissioners to carry firearms into rooms where judicial proceedings are taking place.
