Esther L. Capobianco, 79, of Crossville, TN, died on November 10, 2021, in Life Care Center of Crossville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Stella Jones; half-sister, Stella Moyers; half-brother, Alfonso Jones; brothers, Gary, Marion, Harold, Donald, and Roger Jones. She is survived by her husband John Capobianco, Crossville, TN; sisters, Rowena Moyers, Upper Sandusky, OH, and Donna Chapman, Anderson, SC; brother, Larry (Marie) Jones, West Alexander, PA, and half-sister, Alice McGraw, Ashland, KY.

Esther Capobianco (Jones) was born on January 27th, 1942, in Ashland, KY and was a graduate of Boyd County High School. After graduation, she moved to Toledo, OH, where she was employed at Craft-Master Corporation for 6 years. At Craft-Maters, she met and married John O. Capobianco in 1969. The couple moved to Waukegan, IL, where both were employed at Abbott Laboratories, North Chicago, IL. In the early 1970’s, Esther joined the Catholic Church and received the Sacrament of Confirmation administered by Cardinal John Patrick Cody of Chicago. Esther worked at Abbott Labs in the Hospital Product and Diagnostic Divisions for 28 years before retiring in 1997. She was an avid bowler, winning many trophies as part of the Abbott Bowling League, and enjoyed ocean cruising with her husband, John.

In 2001 Esther moved to Fairfield Glade, TN, with her husband John, and enjoyed attending plays at the Cumberland County Playhouse as well as exercising at the Wellness Center in the Glade. Philanthropy was also an important part of her life, with contributions, aside from the Church, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Cumberland County Playhouse and the Good Samaritans Society of Fairfield Glade, where she and her husband were founding members. Esther and John were members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church since 2002.

A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fairfield Glade, TN. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
