Wayne County, Kentucky Deputies James Barnett and Jacob Vanover responded yesterday to juvenile out of control at a residence on Kentucky Highway 3285.

Witnesses stated the teenager had strangulated his mother and struck her with a baseball bat. The juvenile had also struck another person present with the baseball bat and had also thrown other items at them. The boy then retrieved a kitchen knife from the residence and started making threats with it. The deputies took him into custody while he continued to make verbal threats.

The minor was charged with for first-degree strangulation, second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree terroristic threats and menacing. He was lodged in the Adair County Youth Development Center.
