If you’re a Verizon customer and haven’t been able to text today, there’s a good reason: a widespread East Coast service outage.

A tweet issued by Verizon Wireless this morning said “a ton of customers” have been affected…  from Boston to Orlando – and as far west as St. Louis.

The largest outage areas are in Washington, D.C., New York City, Philadelphia and parts of North Carolina, including Raleigh and Charlotte. Customers in Middle and East Tennessee were also affected by the outage.
