The Tennessee Valley Authority has called for a voluntary customer power reduction as the state experiences a heat spell. TVA recommends the thermostats at 78 degrees and turn off any non-essential lights. The voluntary reduction is part of TVA’s Emergency Load Curtailment Program. TVA kicks the program into action during events that cause peak demand for power.
