BLOUNT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY RECEIVE LIFESAVING COMMENDATION

Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong is proud to announce a Blount County deputy was awarded a Lifesaving commendation for saving the life of a woman on March 20, 2020.
Deputy Sean Brasfield, who is assigned to corrections, administered CPR to a woman in the corrections facility who suffered from a seizure and fell and hit her head. After calling for an ambulance, Deputy Brasfield started CPR on the woman after he couldn’t find a pulse. He continued CPR until medics arrived and transported her to U. T. Medical Center where she regained consciousness a few hours later. Deputy Brasfield’s quick response and decisive actions were instrumental in saving the woman’s life.
Deputy Brasfield began his career at the Blount County Sheriff’s Office in May 2019.
