Thirty-year-old Joshua Matthew Carr entered a plea of not guilty Friday in Sevier County General Sessions Court to fatally stabbing his mother “at least 70 times”.

Carr is charged with first-degree murder in the September 2, 2020 death of 56-year-old Pamela Renee Carr. He is also charged with aggravated assault in the stabbing of his grandmother, Anna Faye Matthews.

Carr was arrested in Michigan two days after the incident and was sent back to Tennessee to face charges.
