Frances Elizabeth Wampler Ladd, age 63, of Harriman, passed away January 2, 2021. She is remembered as a beloved christian, wife, mother, grandmother, prayer warrior, friend, and educator. She taught 32 years to preschool children at Trenton Street Baptist Day Care and Mt. Pisgah Day Care. Frances has been a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church in Harriman for more than 40 years having made original profession of faith at age 10 in April 1967 at the Big Emory Baptist Church in Harriman. She graduated from Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1975. She was preceded in death by her parents: Andrew Edward Wampler (Ted) and Lois Collins Wampler. She is survived by her husband of 26 years: Ronald H. Ladd; daughters: Sarah Powell of Johnson City and Monica Pierce of Knoxville; son: Mark Ladd of Harriman; grandchildren: Cole Hickerson of Johnson City, and Lily Pierce, Rose Pierce, and Nehemiah Pierce of Knoxville; and sisters: Elaine Wampler Smith of Kansas City, MO and Dolores Thorson of Omaha, Nebraska. The family will receive friends at Riverside Baptist Church, 629 Clinch Street in Harriman, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 4 until 7 p.m. eastern. Funeral services will follow. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Baptist Church for the building of the Family Life Center.
