Acting on a tip, Monterey police received information this week a registered sex offender was at a playground with children present. A check of the suspect, 29-year-old Dylan Osterhoudt, came back he was wanted for a violation of the sex offender registry. He was taken into custody and transported to jail.

He was ordered onto the registry after his conviction of statutory rape in 2016 of a 14-year-old in New York state.
