Janet Adams Stone passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, surrounded by family.

Janet was born April 10, 1940, in Harrisburg, PA, to Francis and Alilah Adams.  In 1969, Janet and her five children moved to Crossville, TN after her husband, John F. Tollett, passed away while he was serving in the US Air Force in Germany.

Later, Janet married Raymond L. Stone, and together raised her children. After working as an administrative assistant for 25 years, Janet retired from Cumberland County High School in 2005. She later relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida, where she thoroughly enjoyed her ocean view, warm weather, and lots of sunshine.  In September 2021, Janet returned to Crossville to be near family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, both brothers, (Bruce W. Adams of Florida and David P. Adams of California) and her long-time furry companion of nearly 15 years, Frankie, whom she adored and missed every day.

She is survived by her five children: Kirk (Jennifer) Tollett, LuAnn (Pat) Burk, Judy (Larry) West, Bonnie (Rick) Whitaker, and Jennifer (Bruce) Parsons.

12 grandchildren: Brandon (Ashley) Tollett, Brannigan Tollett, John Braddock (Robbie) Tollett, Adam (Desiree) Burk, Sean (Katie) Burk, D.L. (Brandi) King, Mallory King (Josh), Allison King, Evan Womble, Caleb Parsons, Logan (Lexi) Parsons, and Trevor Parsons, as well as several great-grandchildren.

At her request, the family will have a private service with Mr. Larry McDuffee officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude’s or other charity of choice in her memory.
