SOFIA PRODUCE ISSUES CANTALOUPE RECALL

Officials say cantaloupes distributed in at least ten states, including Tennessee,  are being recalled over potential salmonella contamination.

The Food and Drug Administration said Sofia Produce is recalling recently sold cantaloupes with ‘Malichita’ labels.

The recalled cantaloupes were distributed in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin but may have been sold at markets outside of those states.

Impacted melons will have a sticker that reads Malichita.

If you have a cantaloupe with this sticker, do not eat it. Instead, throw it away or return it to the store where you purchased it.
