CPL. KAMERON ALEXANDER KING, AGE 20

Cpl. Kameron Alexander King, age 20, known to some as Alex, to some as Kameron, to others as Cpl King, and to one, as dad. Alex made his home in Pooler, Georgia with his wife, Amanda, and son, Zaire. He is formerly of Clarkrange, Tennessee where he was raised by his parents Floyd and Deanna King. He left us way too soon on December 28 2023 by way of a motorcycle accident. He attended Clarkrange High School until 2019 when he withdrew from homeschooling and then graduated in January 2020. Cpl. King graduated from USMC boot camp on September 4, 2020, and re-enlisted on November 7, 2023. He was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Arctic Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and two Letters of Appreciation.

Deployments include Bodø, Norway, Łask, Poland, Iwakuni, Japan, Okinawa, Japan, Nyūtabaru, Japan, and Guam.

Qualifications include Aviation Ordnance Technician, Ordnance Team Leader, F/A-18 Final Checker, and Collateral Duty Inspector.

Kameron, loving and helpful, would drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. One of his favorite things was to open doors for former service members, just so he could thank them for their service. Strong-willed and stubborn, he would test his mother’s patience just because he could. He also loved playing his guitars, fishing, playing golf, cooking, loud music, playing on the Xbox and his motorcycles. Determined and confident, he earned more than 10 trophies in Ju Jitsu Karate at a young age and that same determination and confidence is what got him through boot camp for the United States Marine Corps. Cpl King loved being a Marine.

Alex is survived by his wife: Amanda King; son: Zaire King; parents: Floyd and Deanna King; sisters: Kayedrianne Burnett (Daren) and Kanessa Lowe (Michael); grandparents: Karen Hedgecoth, Martha King, and Wayne and Agnes Johnson; aunts and uncles: Billy Johnson and Robert and Fallon Achas; cousins: Audrey Achas and Ayla Achas; and several great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Pa Pa: Bobby Hedgecoth; and great-grandmother: Ardene Glover
