Carole Elizabeth Forkapa, Age 86

Carole Elizabeth Forkapa, age 86, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away peacefully in her sleep
the morning of June 18, 2024. She was born December 17, 1937 in Cleveland, OH, the
daughter of Iola (Biagi) and Joseph Cabot. She was the loving wife of 64 years to Paul Forkapa
and raised her family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
After many years as a Special Education Teacher, Carole retired and moved with Paul to Fairfield
Glade in 2001. She loved the Fairfield Glade Community, developing lasting friendships and fully
enjoying all the amenities that Fairfield had to offer. She was an active member of St. Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church for many years as a Eucharistic Minister, Choir member, Stephen’s
ministry member, and volunteered as an Usher at the Cumberland County Playhouse.
Carole had a passion for life and was dedicated to her family, friends and her teaching career.
She was an avid tennis player who enjoyed golf, bridge, bowling, hiking, singing, reading,
painting, playing and teaching Mahjong and leading prayer groups. Family was very important
to her; she was always supportive, offering encouragement and comfort whenever needed and
keeping everyone up to date on family news. She will be remembered for her sweet disposition
and friendly smile.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughters Barbara Shaw (Sean), Joann
Kress (Tom), her son Robert “Bob” Forkapa (Ericka), and her brother Michael Cabot.
Grandchildren – Tom Kress (Camisha Card), Jacquelyn Kress (Ben Naparsteck), Justin Sharma,
Stephanie Chartier (Chris), Alyssa Shaw, Elicia Andre (Mike), Robert Strawderman, and Paul
Forkapa.
Great Grandchildren – Charlene Strawderman, Christy Andre, A.J Andre, Alice Andre, Madison
Chartier, Audrey Shaw, Connor Woods, Alden Ivy, Micah Ivy, Hailey Forkapa, Carter Naparesteck
and Lilah Naparsteck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Joseph “Cappy” Cabot, Marilyn Newa (Ralph
“Don”) and daughter-in-law Tina Forkapa.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic
Church. Inurnment and luncheon will immediately follow.
