The Morgan County Genealogical and Historical Society and Humanities Tennessee are presenting a documentary about long-time criminal and artist Billy Dean Anderson is set to screen in Morgan County at the American Legion Post 149 Hall, located at 202 South Kingston Street in Wartburg, at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Q&A afterward.
Tours of the museum and Archives will also be available from 3 - 5 p.m.
Anderson was a man who lived on the run from the FBI for many years and spent five of those years hiding, painting, and seeking spiritual guidance from within a cave in Tennessee. Anderson had landed on the FBI's Most Wanted list after multiple prison sentences, police shootouts, and prison escapes.
Director Scott Rabideau said his goal was to tell a story of survival and the healing power of art.
Tickets are free, but required to attend due to limited seating.
