LINDA “FAYE” BARNES age 77 of Crossville, TN passed away on August 27, 2024. She was born January 20, 1947, in Crawford, TN the daughter of James I. and Deamous Bowman Hargis. She retired from the Cumberland County School System as a cafeteria manager, having worked at CCHS, Martin, and South. She was of the Baptist faith. Faye was always laughing and smiling with everyone she was around. She loved to travel and enjoyed line dancing.

She is survived by her brother- James Hargis of Crossville, TN, sister- Frances Hargis also of Crossville, TN, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Vernon Barnes, daughter- Gail Barnes, brothers- Kenneth Hargis and Cecil Hargis and sisters- Ikilene Hargis, Blanche Kilgore, and Beulah Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 12:00noon at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 am-12:00 noon one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slate Springs Cemetery.
