Famed actor and director Quentin Tarantino was born on March 27th, 1963 in Knoxville, TN. His father left before he was born and was taken to live in Los Angeles with his mother in 1966.

He said he has Cherokee descent through his mother, as well as Irish and Italian.

Tarantino would eventually return to Knoxville in 1973 to live with his grandparents after his mother was misdiagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. However, he would only stay less than a year before returning to California.

However, many fans of his works have noticed that Tennessee towns are mentioned in many of his works, despite only having spent a few years in the state.
