HAMILTON COUNTY MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOOTING AT FAMILY ON FRIDAY

Hamilton County man was arrested over the weekend for firing shots at a family sledding near the area of Stoney River Drive near Chattanooga.

The family of six were out enjoying their day, playing in the snow on Friday when they suddenly had to take cover as a man suddenly fired several shots at them. One of these shots came near a one-year-old.

The shooter was identified as 56-year-old Benjamin Cook.

The family located the shooter and screamed at him to stop and later called the local sheriff. The man claimed that he shot at them because they were on his property however an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office of Hamilton County unveiled that they actually weren’t.

Cook will be charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a $10,000 Bond and additional charges could be coming. When deputies investigated his home they found many rifles.
