Rebekah Earle Pope Pleuss

Rebekah Earle Pope Pleuss “Becky” from Oliver Springs, TN was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on January 11, 2025.

Becky is predeceased by her husband, Jim; her parents, Arthur and Frances; and other dear family and friends, including Pat Prato.

She is survived by her three children: Dawn (Mark) Vincent, Jimi (Amy) Pleuss II, and Annie (Dustin) Pleuss Cooper; her four grandchildren: Jack, Zoe, Abby, and Jo; her sister Rachel (Nate) Gwynn; and many other beloved friends and family, including Margeurite Prato and Mona Crump.

Becky graduated from Morehead State University and became a nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others and the world around her. She met the love of her life in college, and they married shortly after graduating, they began to circumnavigate the universe together and gained far-out and truly cosmic memories. Becky had countless stories to share, and she recounted them with such detail and joy that you could experience her life through her words. She lived as a beacon of hope and joy, always willing to help anyone in need. Becky was passionate about horse races, music, animals, movies, TV, cars, reading, writing poetry, and most importantly, being a nurse, mother, and wife. Her curiosity and deep appreciation for the world around her were evident in everything she did. Becky considered herself a cosmic rocker and she was indeed to the end.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 12-1:00 P.M. at Jackson Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Garvan Walls. Interment will follow in Western Cemetery, Coalfield.
