John Logan Ziegler Jr., age 76, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

He was a son of the late John Logan Ziegler III and Virginia Graham Ziegler. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a lifelong Dairy Farmer partnered with his best friend/brother. He enjoyed bear hunting and spending time in the mountains. He was a very respected, involved, and loved father, grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his children: Jean (Carey) Ziegler Russell, Logan (Kelley) Ziegler; grandchildren: Taylor Robinson, Kelsey (Connor) Graham, John Logan Ziegler VI, Elijah Watson, Jack Ziegler; siblings: Byron Ziegler, Janice Jolley; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike King officiating. Interment will follow in the Beta Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
