Latricia Kay “Sis” Whitson Bradshaw, 72

Latricia Kay “Sis” Whitson Bradshaw, age 72, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday
morning, October 1, at her residence. She was born October 28, 1952, in Nashville, TN.
Sis, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the
privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love,
compassion, and unwavering faith in God. We ask that you remember her for the way
her life was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the
pleasure of knowing her.
Sis is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mark Bradshaw, her daughter and son-in-
law Katie and Kevin Davis, son Jonathan Pierce, grandchildren Wyatt and Whitley
Blaylock, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her
parents James E. Whitson and Emma Jean Glennon Whitson, and brothers Whit,
Dennis, and Jerry Whitson.
The Whitson Family moved to Crossville in 1960 to run the Crossville Memorial Airport
where the family spent many years together. She began her teaching career in 1988 in
Crossville before moving to Sunbright School in 1990 where she taught for 25 years
before retiring. She had many students during her time that would eventually become
her peers. Her legacy as an educator continues to live in those she taught.
Once she retired, she became a full-time Grandmother to Wyatt and Whitley. She
continued to use her previous life as an educator to work with them and others to keep
her busy. She was a faithful member of South Harriman Baptist Church. She and Mark
enjoyed traveling to Cades Cove and the Smokies and their annual trip to the Gaither
Family Fest in Gatlinburg.
Those who knew Sis will remember her for her infectious smile and overwhelming
laughter, stories, and deep-rooted faith in Jesus. She had a rare gift for making others
smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
The family will receive friends at the Hood Funeral Home Saturday, October 11 from
1:00 to 3:00 PM with the Celebration of Life service to follow. She will be buried at
Green Acres Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital:
