Walter Benion Smith, age 80, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on October 9, 2025, at Cumberland Medical Center.

Benion was born on November 23, 1944, in Rockwood, Tennessee, son of the late Walter Emerson Smith and Cammie (Norris) Smith.

Walter managed a grocery store and served in the National Guard.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Gail (Harper) Smith; sons, Walter Benion Smith II (Gin Kiser Smith) and Christopher Lowell Smith; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Erika Caroline Smith; brothers, Jackie Smith and Robert Smith.

Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church.

A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Green Acres Memory Gardens. We will process from Bilbrey Funeral Home at 2:30 PM to Green Acres Memory Gardens.
