Dennis “Denny” Lynn Roberts, age 61 of the Luminary community, passed away on October 5, 2025, at his home. He was born in Hixson on September 26, 1964, the son of Otis Roberts of the Luminary community and his late mother, Virginia Lee (Roberts) Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Manuel Lynn and Christine (Thurman) Roberts, and Dennis Lee and Mary Billie (Swafford) Roberts; his two uncles, Larry Roberts and Edward Harris; and his two aunts, Bernice Harris and Alma Davis.

Denny called the Luminary community home throughout his life and was a proud graduate of Rhea County High School. He served Vaughn Funeral Home with dedication for 20 years as a landscaper and cemetery caretaker, while also working with Rocky Creek Properties for 15 years. When he wasn’t working, Denny could be found enjoying the outdoors he loved so much.

In addition to Denny’s father, Otis Roberts, he is also survived by his step-mother, Judy Roberts of the Luminary community; his brother, Michael (Melinda) Roberts of Spring City; his two step-sisters, Dawn (Keith) Cole of Dayton, Ohio and Charity Swint of Wartburg; his step-brother, Nicky (Paige) Pound of Spring City; his two aunts, Virginia (Bob) Ellis of Spring City and Gail (Billy) Gravett of Soddy-Daisy; his two nephews, Mikey (Ariel) Roberts and Nathan (Karen) Roberts, both of Dayton; his great-nephew, Owen Roberts; his great-niece, Layla Roberts; many cousins; host of friends; and a friend of all the family, Elsie Collins.

Funeral services for Denny will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Daniel officiating. He will be laid to rest at Thurman Cemetery located in the Frostbite community on Fire Tower Road.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, TN, where they will receive friends on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
