Nancy Beaty Gernt, 85
Mrs. Nancy Beaty Gernt passed away December 1, 2025 at Cookeville Regional
Medical Center. Nancy was born July 10 th , 1940 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Robert
“Ray” and Pauline Stults Beaty. Nancy devoted her life to serving her Savior Jesus
Christ and lived everyday by the belief that no matter what “God is in control”. She
served the 8 th Judicial District as a criminal court reporter for 18 years until she went to
work at York Agricultural Institute where she retired after 20 plus years of service. Nancy
had a huge burden for the children of Fentress County. She believed that children were
the greatest blessing from God and she cherished all children. She devoted more than
25 years as the chairperson of the Foster Care Review board where she championed
for many children who would have otherwise fallen through the cracks of the system.
Nancy was also a member of the Presbyterian Women and enjoyed her sewing days
with Prayer and Squares. Nancy was faithful, selfless, charitable, and loving.
Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 4, at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown. Burial will follow in the Allardt Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown. Family will also receive friends on Thursday December 4, from 10 AM until time of the service at 11 AM
Nancy leaves behind three daughters Anne Cravens (Stanley), Rebecca Pickles (Vic),
Donnette Wilson (Tom) and one son Alton Gernt

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hope Foundation or the
Allardt Presbyterian Church.
