Jackie Vernon Conley, 87, of Crossville, TN passed away on November 29, 2025 at Cumberland Medical Center surrounded in love and prayer by family and friends. He was born in Crossville, Tennessee on July 9, 1938 to the late Eldie and Mattie Conley. Jackie worked as a heavy equipment operator for most of his life, and was always a hard worker. He was also a man of God, who never met a stranger. He always spoke of his Lord and Savior, and wanted to share what God had done in his life with everyone. He had a big heart and love for his family and friends. He also loved his best friend, and fur companion, Goober. Jackie was an avid fisherman, and could fry up the best Crappie you’ve ever eaten. His passing left a great void that cannot be filled, and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community. Jackie is survived by his daughter, Linda Ogle; grandchildren, Timothy Ogle (Donna), Russell Ogle (Jan), Melissa Souders (Kevin), Anthony Ogle, Chris Ogle (Margaret), Toby Payne, Johnny Ogle, Rhonda Stone (Isaac Sandoval), Nancy Brady (Robert Carr), Nathaniel Elmore, Elizabeth Elmore, Jessica Lavallee (Raymond), Keith Ownby, Stephen Ownby (Tabby), and Michael Ownby (Megan); and many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren as well. In addition to his parents, Jackie is proceeded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Flowers) Conley; sons, Wylie Haskell Elmore Jr, Billy Joe Elmore, and David Gene Elmore; daughters, Katherine Jo Elmore and Connie Mae Williams; brothers, George W. Conley, Dewey Edward Conley, William Frank Conley, and Earl Conley; sisters, Margaret Conley and Corine Conley; sons-in-law, Eugene Ogle and Ronnie Ogle; granddaughter, Cathy Ranay Payne. Memorial service will be held at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service to be held at Slate Springs Cemetery on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10 a.m.
