Sarah Ellen Jenkins, age 89 of Grimsley, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at her home surrounded by husband and daughters.

Sarah was born on October 16, 1936 in Grimsley, Tennessee. She loved her family and truly enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent several years working in Dietary Dept at Jamestown Regional Hospital, where she enjoyed preparing and serving food to patients, staff, and doctors. Sarah had a love of quilting, sewing, and cross-stitching and enjoyed sharing her projects with friends and family. She also loved making and sharing her famous cinnamon rolls. She was a member of the Grimsley Independent Church (formerly Grimsley Methodist Church) for over 50 years serving her fellow congregation in so many ways.

She is preceded in death by her:
Parents, Joe and Myrtle (Cook) Richards

Funeral Services will be held at on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Grimsley Independent Church (formerly Grimsley Methodist Church). Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm immediately preceding the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Roane State Fentress County Food Pantry. Donations can be left at Jennings Funeral Homes.
