Van Howard (Hooney) Walls, age 90, of Harriman, TN passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026 at UT Medical Center. He was a Christian and member of South Harriman Baptist Church. He graduated from Central High of Wartburg and Tri-City Barber College of Knoxville. He was a Barber at O.K. Barber Shop until his retirement in 1998. He served his country in the Army 1956-1958.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Maude Walls; daughter Carmen Yetieve Walls; brothers J.D., Ralph, Joe, Rex, Frank, Wayne, and Paul (Tuffy); brothers-in-law Don Kittrell and Len McMahan.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Margaret (Maggie) Brasel Walls; son Daniel Howard Walls (Tanya); granddaughter Lauren Michelle Walls; brothers Clayton Walls (Beverly) and Steve Walls; sisters Katherine Walls Kittrell and Thelma Nancy Walls McMahan and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a graveside service Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Sam Leslie officiating with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to South Harriman Baptist Church or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
