Funeral Services for Martha Ruth Wilson, age 98, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Vestel Whittaker will officiate with interment to follow in the Harris Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born on Monday, April 18, 1927, in the Thompson Flatt Community of Overton County, Tennessee, to the late Miller and Myrtle Phillips. Mrs. Wilson passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Monterey. Mrs. Wilson was a long-time factory worker. She was a wonderful mother and loved her family and extended family. She was an excellent cook with specialties of fried apple pies, apple stack cakes, and pumpkin rolls. She loved quilting and made many beautiful quilts. She was a lifetime member of the Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian. She is survived by her children, Georgia Savage of Livingston, TN, Joyce and David Phillips of Monterey, TN, Richard and Cathy Wilson of Crossville, TN, Barbara Whittaker of Monterey, TN, Johnny Wilson of Monterey, TN; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Harris, Eldon Savage, Kelly Savage, Richard Wilson, Christy Nave, Dewayne Whittaker, Aaron Whittaker, including 2 special grandchildren she considered as her “own children,” Tyler Wilson and Zach Wilson; numerous great and great great grandchildren; brother, Roy Phillips of Monterey, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Clayton Wilson; daughter, Helen Harris; son, Kenneth Wilson; grandson, Jeff Harris; sons-in-law, Jimmy Savage and Lonnie Harris; siblings, Media Harris, Felma Swafford, Ralph Phillips, Roland Phillips, Zelma Presley, Auda Mae Wilson; and infant brother, Doyle Phillips.
