Funeral Services for Loyd McCowan, age 83, of the Mineral Springs Community, will be conducted on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Kirby will officiate with interment to follow in the Love Joy Cemetery. Mr. McCowan was born on Wednesday, February 18, 1942, in the Love Joy Community, to the late Haskell and Mona Gladys Ashburn McCowan. Mr. McCowan passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. McCowan worked with Ely & Walker and FFM/Perdue. He was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran and a member of Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elease Bilbrey McCowan of the Mineral Springs Community; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bobby Bowman of the Green Pond Community; son and daughter-in-law, Myron and Jessica McCowan of the Mineral Springs Community; grandchildren, Justin (Adrianna) Bowman, Deana McCowan (Cody Cagley), Brittany (Arlis) Phillips, Alexander McCowan, and Kacie McCowan (Caleb Smith); great grandchildren, Rhett, Raelynn, Nevaeh, Carter, Aiden, Bentley, Ellie, Arlis, Elza, and Naomi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd McCowan.
