Peter Gibbard, born July 5, 1956, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved son of Peter Gibbard and Virginia Gibbard.
Peter later moved to Tennessee, where he dedicated his life’s work to Y-12, serving with pride, commitment, and a strong sense of duty until his retirement. His work ethic and dependability were evident throughout his career and reflected the values he lived by every day.
He was the devoted husband of Linda Gibbard, with whom he shared a life rooted in loyalty, perseverance, and deep family bonds.
Peter was a loving father to Heather Hensley, Eddie Hundley, Peyton Hensley, and Onyx Gibbard, whom he cherished deeply and cared for with unwavering devotion.
He was a proud grandfather to Joshua Hensley, Brittney Hensley, and Tiffany Hensley, each of whom carries forward his legacy of strength, guidance, and unconditional love.
Outside of his work and family, Peter found joy in riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, working with wood, and spending time taking care of those he loved. He was a man who showed his love through action—by providing, protecting, and always being present for his family.
