Mitchell Edward Armour, age 52, of Decatur, passed away on January 20, 2026.

Mitch was the cherished son of the late Edward and Charlotte Lynn Armour. He led a life filled with passion, particularly enjoying his time at dirt track racing.

Mitch is preceded in death by his dear friends, Winnie Burris and Riley Burris, who shared many wonderful moments with him.

Mitch’s legacy will live on through his beloved son, Austin (Madison) Armour; his loving sister, Tracy Coleman; and his brother, Derrick Nelson. He is also survived by his niece, Laney Lewis, as well as special friends, Chris Whitted and Stephanie Davis, and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Mitch’s life will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. David Disney officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4- 6 p.m., prior to the service.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Life Care Center of Rhea County for the exceptional care and love extended to Mitch, along with the compassionate care from Amedisys Hospice.
