ELLA MAE HENLINE, AGE 77
Ella Mae Henline “Windi” born April 28, 1948, in Paynesville, West Virginia, lived in Roane County, Tennessee, for 30 + years. She went to her eternal home on March 19, 2026. Windi was an extraordinary nurse since 1981 where she devoted her skills to various facilities, later embarking on her most fulfilling journey with the Tennessee Department of Corrections, starting at Brushy Mountain State Prison and moving to Morgan County Correctional Complex until retiring twice. Those who knew and worked with her adored her vibrant, joyful, compassionate spirit. Her family knew that just as exceptional she was as a nurse, her true calling was meant to be a drill sergeant.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William Mathis Garson Jones (Payne) and Martha Catherine Leaster; husband: Carl Ray Henline; granddaughters: Tabitha Nicole Patton and Rebecca Denise Sick (Frady); and four special sisters she loved with all her heart.
She is survived by children: Dana Powell (Harriman), Denise & Kent Leadbetter (Knoxville), Misty & Donny Wright (Harriman), and Shane & Miranda Powell (Rockwood); grandchildren: Heather Lambert, Christopher Lambert, Chance Leadbetter, Brooke & Chris Flanigan, Charles & Bri Norris, Erica & Johnathan Manis, Joshua Norris, River Wright, Isabelle & Justin Silvers, Mya Powell, Meghan Powell, and Samuel Burns; great-grandchildren: Caitlin, Paige, Leah Mae, Gracey, Christian, Evelyn, Ellie, Emilia, Ava, Joseph Lennon, Laken (precious), Callista Dawn, Dawson’lee, Oakley Lynelle, Aurora Rose, Anastasia, and Catilay; and a host of children and grandchildren that she considered her own at heart over the years.
A celebration of life will be held on her birthday, April 28, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
