Faye Hamby Abston, age 86, a resident of the Ozone community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her home. She was born September 14, 1939, in the Millstone Mountain community of Cumberland County, Tennessee. She was a member of the Rockwood Church of Christ and supported her husband in Ministry. She loved to paint and butterflies.

She was preceded in death by her parents: “Jack” & Melba Hamby; husband: Bro. Ernest Abston; son: Larry Abston; brothers: Dwaine Hamby and Benny Hamby; and son-in-law: C.J. Atkinson.

Survivors include children and their spouses: Judy Atkinson, Terri Purdie (Sid), Ernie Abston (Sandy), Donna Richardson, and Brenda Choate (Terry); grandchildren: Hank Moss (Elizabeth), Shawn Long (Charlie), Tonya Abston, Trevor Abston, Miranda Abston, Caleb Purdie (Samantha), Mary Basinger (Jr.), Wendy Borden (Mark), Ginny Reed, Travis Fox (Michelle), and Shauna Ledbetter (Corey); a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend: Nell Moore; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Family and friends will meet on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. Eastern at Millstone Mountain Cemetery; 3893 Millstone Mountain Road; Rockwood, Tennessee 37854.
